Like I said I took PALS last week and the next course I have is TCNN which is a trauma nurse course and I am really excited for that one! Its pretty difficult but I know I will learn so much! That is one positive of military nursing is that you get a ton of training and the Navy pays for it all! I have always heard that the training you receive in the military is unparalleled to the civilian sector and that is already proving true. The Surgeon General also visited our hospital the other week so that was cool! Very intimidating but I didn't actually meet him so I didn't make a fool out of myself!
In other news we are on TCCOR 1 here in Yokosuka so we are confined to our homes while the typhoon blows over. The weather isn't crazy bad but there is a lot of rain and wind and they made some of the ships go underway so they didn't get smashed up against the barge. We're still in typhoon season and its been pretty mild so I guess a lot of people thing we will get a bunch now.
But this weekend I spent in Oze national forest about 4 hours away from Yokosuka. It was beautiful! I am including some pictures but it was awesome to get away from the city and see the countryside of Japan, which is breathtaking! Friday night we went to an American style bar in Yokohama and then left early Saturday morning and drove to Oze which took much longer than expected. We hiked some that night, actually in pitch dark which was very irresponsible but we underestimated our hike distance! The next day we woke up and hiked all day from 9 AM to about 4:30 PM. We hiked over 25 miles! Needless to say my feet hurt and I am glad I'm spending today being lazy and sitting around the house!
Life has been pretty good lately and I feel so blessed to be where I am right now in life. I have worked extremely hard for everything I have and I am finally starting to be able to sit back, relax and enjoy this beautiful life. :)
