My friend and I did an all inclusive vacation there and for my first trip there that was definitely the way to go. We didn't even need to leave the resort! All you can eat and drink! The resort we stayed on is called the Riu and it has several different hotels at that one resort. At first we were at the Riu Bambu but then when we arrived they had upgraded us to the Riu Macao, which was an adults only side, which actually turned out to be nice. Don't get me wrong I love kids but it was nice to not have to hear screaming children or watch them running around for a little bit. We were able to just relax on the beach and get a nice tan. The people in the Dominican are so nice and welcoming. The tourism there really is their livelihood so we made sure to tip good because once you get off the resort you realize how poverty stricken the area is. As much as I loved the resort and it was so nice to relax, I think it would be amazing to do a medical trip there if possible. Hope I get that opportunity in the Navy!
Hello everyone! Just returned from my amazing getaway trip in the Caribbean! So beautiful there! We were only there for four nights and I wish we could have stayed longer because it was so relaxing and amazing. I would definitely recommend Dominican Republic to anyone who wants to take a Caribbean vacation. As you can see by the pictures below it's beautiful! Other than that life is back to normal now. I am working at the cancer center and hope to start working as a temporary nurse there soon. Only two more months until I can be physically cleared and hopefully on to ODS and Japan! I hope everyone is doing well and the semester is off to a good start!
